    Well, perhaps I shouldn't have slagged Tomato (even though it wasn't an
    intentional slagging...) In that case, it might have been user error (ie:
    mine) but I ran out of patience - especially after the Linksys was bricked
    and even Linksys online chat support agreed it was done in. Linksys did
    authorize an RMA for me to return it and get a refund - kudos to them... Of
    course, if you use 3rd party firmware in a device you obviously have to be
    prepared for the results - good or bad. Sadly, some manufacturer firmware is
    so buggy you just have to try some 3rd party stuff sometimes...

    I give a thumbs up to Tomato firmware. I ran it on one of my Linksys
    units for several years, before migrating all 6 routers over to
    dd-wrt. It's not nearly as full-featured as dd-wrt, but it's very
    stable and I wouldn't hesitate to run it again if my needs were to
    change. For the time being, though, I'm happily using dd-wrt.
