Website access getting blocked by VDSL modem

Got a real puzzler, to me anyway.

We have FTTC broadband with Plusnet. Normally works absolutely fine.
Recently my wife took over management of a mailing list for a local cycling
group. This requires her to access https://www.titania.twentyhost.com.
Recently the log in hasn't been accessible and In addition, access to the
club's website gets blocked to any device accessing the net though our BB
    connection.

We know that the club site is working fine as we can still access it over
3G or if we reset the router and modem. Today I discovered that I don't
need to reset the router, i just need to power cycle the VDSL modem (a ECI
    B-focus alpha 1B VDSL 3048).

Once we restore access to the club site, any attempt to open the Titania
site results in access getting blocked again.

Anyone got any idea what's going on?

Tell me something I don't know. ;-). I think the site is having DNS issues
but I'm none the wiser as to why just attempting to access the site
kyboshes our access to the club website.

Again, this info doesn't explain why attempting to access the site causes
the VDSL modem to block access to the cycling club site (until rebooted).
It's only this site that is blocked. All other websites seem to be
    accessible.

  7. Definitely looks like DNS/site misconfiguration to me.

FWIW, I can't access anything sensible at that URL irrespective of the
connection I'm using to access it, Plusnet or otherwise.

There is no DNS entry for www.titania.twentyhost.com.

There is an entry for titania.twentyhost.com. That gets me to
the page mentioned in tigger's 16:21 post.

There is no MX record for titania.twentyhost.com which means
that it is impossible to email

  9. I really doubt that the modem is doing the blocking.

Most likely the router is seeing the internet connection go down when
the modem is switched off and is flushing it's DNS cache in response.

It's impossible to comment on why the other website is being block after
you access titania.twentyhost.com since you don't tell us anything about
    it such as it's URL.

The difference between 3G and plusnet is most likely due to something at
twentyhost being reconfigured and the new DNS records not propergating
to the 3G services DNS servers yet. (Well actually I bet it has by now).

Ah, just did a whois search on the club site and its name server is ns7 &
ns8.twentyhost.com. I guess that explains why both are getting screwed up.
