web server a home

  1. Any suggestions to set up a web server at home?
    A low power comsumption linux station, provided by a 'solid state' memory?

    What kind -- static content or dynamic? Lots of traffic or almost
    none?
    Since you're asking on a Linux newsgroup: yes.
    Do the maths yourself. I'm not sure the power cost makes that much of
    a difference. Compare with a used laptop, which you may be able to
    get almost for free.

    Please don't multi-post. You've now got (at least) two completely
    separate threads running: one here, one under comp.os.linux.hardware,
    and one for each of the other groups you posted into.
