Anyone upgrade from Linksys 802.11b to 802.11g? If so, did you notice
    increased power from the WAP?
    Better signal at PCs/laptops?

    Better range?

The BEFW11S4 linksys 802.11b has an optional power booster that is not
applicable to the newer "g" models. And the booster is almost the price of
    the "g" model WAP.

Yes, went from a WAP11 / WPC11 to the G router and G PC Cards.

I did notice some increase in coverage and signal quality but did not
do anything to measure it. So, it could be that I am just getting
faster speeds at the same distance due to Gs overall increase in
speed. But, I can get a bit farther from the AP than with the B
    hardware.
