In my many years of experience, Ive never seen this:
    here is a quick look at my network;
    dhcp
    pdc is a nt 4 sp6a server
computer in question is 98 se

I work for a school. Last year, the computer teacher had a second hard
drive on his office computer. On this hard drive were share folders,
for each of his students. This is where they put their work, papers,
    etc for his class.
This year, he has removed that hard drive.

common sense would tell you that if you went into network neighborhood
(or XPs equivilant) that you would no longer see these folders...
well, that would be wrong in this case.
No matter if it is a 98 or XP machine, wen i look on the network on
this computer teachers computer, I see all those old shared drives.
Trying to open them is no good, windows tells you that the "device is
    not ready".
Ive done a search on his computer for these folders and they are no
where to be found. AS a last effort i deleted all his tmp files... any
    suggestions?
    thanks all in advance!
