Roaming Profiles Windows 8 and Windows 2008 R2

Discussion in 'Windows Networking' started by Teofilo Homsany, Nov 14, 2012.

  1. Hey guys!
    Good morning.
I have a situation where I have a Windows 2008 R2 Server with an active
directory, roaming profiles and folder redirection that I use with
Windows XP and Windows 7 machines.
Now we're implementing Windows 8 machines but for some reason, if I
have a Windows 7 machine with a profile and I try to log on with that
same user on a Windows 8 machines, the profile is not pulled off the
server and neither it shows the folder redirection as it should.
Do I need to enable something on the Windows 2008 server to allow
"compatibility" between Windows XP, Windows 7 and Windows 8.

    Thanks a lot in advance!

    Teo

    Hi Teo

Did you ever find a solution for this? I've just hit the same problem on my 2008 R2 domain - it's got Roaming profiles working with XP and Windows 7. I just joined a Windows 8 machine on it today and the User logs on with a temporary profile.

    Regards

    Mark
