When being chased by a hungry dragon, you only have to out run the slowest
person in the group... not the dragon.

    Won't stay :/

In our attempts to fix this, we made a configuration error
that has as result that nothing got fed anymore to the binary
spool. So you had the whole binary spool available to
server articles. Ofcourse that was fast, but getting no
new articles doesn't really help either does it. Has been
fixed in the mean time, but we're back to the old situation...

Is this why no text messages have been appearing in binary groups for
    the last day or so?

Hrm, shouldn't be. Textarticles follow a different route, as long
as they are detected as textarticles.

Weird, there were no text messages appearing since about 1pm on the
10th until today. I'd sent some myself that hadn't shown, so I went to
Teranews to check I'd posted them properly and found tons of
discussions and requests had been going on all day that weren't
appearing here. Seems to be working fine today tho :)

BTW, to everyone who moans about the slowness of this server and said
there's none as bad... just try using Teranews! It takes about 30
seconds to display one message and sometimes won't even retrieve
headers and just freezes. Posting doesn't even work sometimes. Bah.

Goto http://www.nntpworld.com/ sign-up and help test this new server and
see what a real fast server behaves like.

It wont be available for long though as it will go pay as soon as the bugs
    are out of it.

If you do, don't use a real credit card number though.

That was terranews. Loads borked. Lots of people complaining about it.
Don't use teranews to post here is the only answer :)

  13. not trying to be clever, but you do realise that entering a nonreal
credit card number is technically fraud? I'd not recommend it
personally. "Obtaining goods by deception" is an unhappy thing to have
    on your credit record too.

I would suggest that you go to the site before jumping to conclusions.
The signup system is being tested and specifically states for you not to
    enter real CC details.

    except that it says...

"DO NOT ENTER REAL CREDIT CARD INFO RIGHT NOW!"

on the signup page ! ;-)

Only if you're attempting to buy something. Which in this case you're
    not.
Not quite the same thing as getting free goods or services. These offers
of "free" or "trials" are *not* conditional on you buying goods - so you
are not obtaining goods or services by deception, because if the offer
*were* to be conditional on buying the goods they would not be free or
    on trial.

You been to the page in question?

The owner of the servers wants them testing and specifically says don't
    enter a real CC number.

It just took me 38 seconds to retrieve your post. I think your optimism is
    sadly misplaced!
