PCAnywhere and a Linksys BEFSR41 v2 router

Discussion in 'Network Routers' started by AnytimeAnywhere, Aug 13, 2004.

  1. I have a remote office with a Linksys BEFSR41 v2 router. I want to be able
to access the 5 PCs there with PCAnywhere. I am only able to access 1 PC
with port forwarding. Any other TCP/IP addresses that I try to port forward
will not work with PCAnywhere. Will this router only work with 1 PCAnywhere
session? I tried changing the ports on PCAnywhere and on the router
(through port forwarding) but got nothing. I am using v10.5 of PCAnywhere.

    Thanks,

    John

That's the approach you need to take.

You can make machine A listen on port 56311 and 56321 machine B listen
on 56312 and 56322 and so on. Then you forward those ports to the
correct IP address. That should allow one external IP to respond for all
    X number of machines.

  3. Thanks for the reply. It turns out that the firmware needed to be upgraded
    to do this.

    Thanks,

For clarification, we are talking about the Linksys box that you need to
    do the firmware upgrade on?
