NIS slave problem on RH 8.0

  1. Hello!

I set up a NIS slave on RH 8.0 with a master server running under HP-UX
10.20 a few days ago. Everything seemed to work fine. When I did a
yppasswd to change my password on a client which was bound to the slave
the maps on the master were updated and pushed to the slave. If I check
the timestamps in /var/yp/nisdomain on the slave passwd.byname and
passwd.byuid are up to date, but if I try to login on a client which is
bound to the slave I still have to use my old password until I restart
    ypserv on the slave.
This problem only encounters on the linux slave. There is another HP-UX
slave in the network which works fine. Can anyone tell me what's going
wrong? Is there a caching mechanism or something like that?

    Regards
    TOBIAS.
