Networking Windows 200 Professional and Windows 98SE

Discussion in 'Windows Networking' started by Steven Bai Rossi, Jul 25, 2003.

  1. I have a wireless network between two computores. One
computor is running Windows 200 professional and the other
is running Windows 98 SE. The Windows 2000 sees and will
talk with the Windows 98 SE but the Windows 98 SE will not
see or talk to the Windows 2000. We can play games agains
each other and share the internet with no problems. I can
pull shared files from the Windows 98 SE to the Windows
2000 but can not not see or pull shared files from the
Windows 2000 to the Windows 98 SD. Please help, this is
    driving me nuts.

The question is asked every week. Does no-one look through archives.
You need a user configured on the w2k machine exactly the same as the
    logon at the w98 machine.

  3. Please reply to this message in the news group (not by E-mail) with
more information to help other people understand the problem. For
    example:

How are you trying to see or talk to the Windows 2000 computer from
Windows 98 SE? What exactly happens when you do it? If there's an
error message, what is its complete text?
