Question: if I buy a SIM for my mi-fi unit and that SIM comes with a
30-day bundle, when does that 30 day period start? Is it the first
time the SIM registers with the SP, or is it the first time a data
    transaction takes place?

I have several such SIMs but haven't used any yet. I suppose it could
be that the first time I go on line I have to give ersonal info so as
such that could/would be the start of the 30 days - or is it?

For info Sainsburys are currently doing EE SIMs with a 200MB 4G 30-day
bundle for £1 - not bad for e-mail only?

That's interesting - the ones I saw in their shop were "price-less".

ASDA have an offer, FREE SIM, top up with £5 and you get 12GB Free
    until end of December.

Bought top up voucher, put sim in phone, activated top up, and then
put sim in MIFI dongle and works fine.

Don't know for sure, but it's safest to assume that the 30 days starts
when the SIM first registers to the network regardless of whether you
use any data on that occasion.

Sounds interesting. Not quite as good as the job lot of '3' 1GB SIMs I
bought from Currys at £3 each a while ago.

    Yes, but for how long?

EE (which runs Asda) specifically differentiate between phone and data
    SIMs and their usage.

I've got a couple of them as well!

I want to use them when we are away in the caravan and GiffGaff (O2)
in that area is only 2G, but just across the field is a 3 tower on
which EE lodge, and they both do 4G from there.
