I took a TPLink WR841n and replaced the 2 stick antennas with 2 biquads, etched on a PCB (the 2 antennas separated by a quarter wavelength distance). Put a reflector in place and tested this with a normal COT WR841n (with no changes). I did not see a very significant change in the reach (both do abt 300 ft). Also, the biquad was not "very directional" to be visible. I stuck the router motherboard close to the antenna- so the cable distance was less than 1 feet (from the biquad to the solder point on the router motherboard.
Anyone with suggestions on why this may be happening?
