Linux TCP Implementation

Discussion in 'Linux Networking' started by Diwaker Gupta, Feb 17, 2004.

  1. This question might have been burnt to death by now, but still I want to
have a go at it. I've look through the archives, and there hasn't been
    any recent discussion on this.

I was just wondering what TCP does the current 2.6.x kernels implement.
From looking at the source code and from here and there on usenet, it
seems it is some kind of tweaked Reno. I'm curious why Vegas or Westwood
never made it into the mainstream kernels. Also, are there existing
implementations/patches of Vegas/Westwood for current kernels?

    TIA
