Linux Null route timeout

Discussion in 'Network Routers' started by Aris Fesarlis, Apr 5, 2014.

  1. Hello,
I have set up some null outgoing routes in Linux for some hosts I want
to disable connection. I want to ask how can I adjust the timeout for
those connections, as this results in my web sites being unresponsive
during the initial connection until the timeout is reached.

Tried this but does not seem to help:

    echo "1" > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/route/gc_timeout

My null routes are set up like this:

route add -net 1.2.0.0/16 gw 127.0.0.1 lo
