IpSec rule ordering: <my ip address> or "a specific ip address"?

Discussion in 'Windows Networking' started by Mattias Nyholm, Jun 30, 2004.

  1. Does anyone know which of the following IpSec filters is considered "most
    specific"?

<my ip address> -or- "a specific ip address".

Is the behaviour in this case consistent between different Windows versions?

    Thanks,
    Mattias

  2. You will need to give some more information here; a rule is
    src-IP; Dst-IP, Protocol, src-port, dst-port

The specificificy depends on all the parameters

My IP address is a short-hand way of specifying the IP addess(es) of 'this'
    host
