    I currently have a 2.4ghz linksys b band wireless
connection between my win98 cpu(client) and xp cpu (host).
File sharing works great, but internet sharing is not
working. the win98 shows internet gateway present, but
will not connect to gateway with browser using xp cpu
    connection?

    any ideas thanks,
    Orlo

  2. Which device (98 box, XP box, or wireless box) are you
trying to use as the router?
    Please post model of linksys.
I am assuming that both the 98 and XP boxes are linked
together wirelessly. If so, how did you set up the
wireless box? (this normally requres a cable connection)

  3. Is your Linksys box a wireless router or a wireless access point?
    What's its model number?

If you have a cable or DSL Internet connection, a wireless router can
share the connection between both computers. In that case, they're
both clients of the wireless router, and there's no host computer.

If you have a dial-up Internet connection, you can use one computer as
an Internet Connection Sharing host and bypass the wireless router's
    router capability.

What does the 98 computer show for IP address, subnet mask, default
gateway, and DNS server? To see, go to Start | Run | Winipcfg, select
the network adapter from the menu, and click More Info.
