How to install rpm or, software on remote linux server

    Hi Forum,

    I don't know how to install rpm or, software on remote linux server
    from linux client...
    Please any body help me.....

    You need to log in to the server using telnet, ssh, X windows - or
    similar first.

  3. The most obvious would be, 'scp' the package over, login via
    'ssh', become root or use sudo and your package manager to
    install.

    Good luck

    BTW
    cols (comp.os.linux.setup) should be more suited for this kind of
    question, since it has only remotely to do with networking.

  4. ssh to remote machine, su to root, run "rpm -Uvh whatever.rpm", done.
