Is there any way to specify a user and domain when trying to map a network
drive from a Win98 computer on a WinXP computer?

When trying to map a network drive on my Win98 computer which is located on
the WinXP computer, I am always asked to enter a password. The WinXP Security
Event Log registers an Audit Failure with the user name on the Win98
computer. Of course the user name on the Win98 computer is not known on the
    WinXP computer.
The desired network drive can be maped on the WinXP computer itself without
    problems.

    Thanks for advice

It may seem strange that I reply to myself, but after a rather long weekend I
found out how it works. So if anyone encounters the same problem, here are
the important configuration changes on the Win98 computer:
    1. create a user with the same name and password as on the WinXP computer
    (Start/Settings/Control Panel/Users)
    2. change the name of the workgroup to the domain name on the WinXP computer
    (Start/Settings/Control Panel/Network/Identification)
    3. change the logon procedure to 'Windows Logon' instead of 'Microsoft
    Family Logon' (Start/Settings/Control Panel/Network/Configuration)

I am not sure if all 3 changes are necessary, but after these changes I
managed to map a harddrive on the WinXP computer as a network drive on the
Win98 computer (no request for a password).
