Hello everyone my name is James Hermanson and i am 17 years of age. I am skilled with computers for only being 17. I have built a computer from scratch, but currently i am trying to use and learn more about Linux/Windows. I would like to one day have a career as Administrating Linux/ and or Windows. Does anyone know of anywhere to start at 17? Anywhere to maybe go and shadow people at work to learn more about what they do and what Linux is all about. I live in Rochester, NY and to be honest i can't find much of anything around here for anything like what i am trying to get into. Thanks guys and i look forward to hearing from you guys think!

Get a job in cabling. that way you learn about the physical side of Networking. It will help alot in the long run. Other then that. get certified and keep looking for an internship or take a position as a helper or understudy.

    Also try charities and not-for-profits.
