ACR is a thing I would like to have, but BT charge £3/month.

Anybody know of a PC Voicemail package that implements this?

You can get almost as good results by registering with
http://www.tpsonline.org.uk/tps/ it's *Free*, and it *works*

  4. Thus spaketh Joe Soap:
We had it for years, and as you say mostly doesn't work.

I found a whistle down the phone and deafening the sods worked the best,
now I only get maybe 1 or 2 callers a year.

  7. So surely, as the OP, you should asking DF why it works for him and not
    you...

Anything which did/does get through got/gets a hard time.
    *No* is a useful word.

I already have, and it does.

How long have you been subscribed, and do you let the callers know you
    are subscribed to the TPS?

Yet you only get 1 or 2 callers a year? I doubt you blowing a whistle
down the phone has had anything to do with it.

  11. Thus spaketh Tx2:
I'd say going from having 3 - 4 calls a week from scum trying to sell
stuff, to only 2 a year at most trying to sell stuff, the whistle has
    done the trick.

Strange, TPS works pretty well for us. We used to get several calls a
week and now it's down to a few a year. It did take several months after
registration before the calls dropped away though.

Ever sinc it started up. What is the point of telling all the wankers -
AFTER they have caused annoyances? I want to dtop the irritation.

AS I said in another post, say *No* and give the b*g*rs a hard time, if
    they get through.

The point is obvious, at least i would have thought it was? It might be
reactive, but in time, it should become proactive.

    Sorry, it's NFG.

Lots of plugs for an ineffective service, but no answers to my question
about a Voicemail solution. Maybe there isn't one.
