Hi

I have a machine with a ZyXEL ZyAIR B-200 USB netcard installed.
The machine is running Windows XP Pro.

My access point is D-LINK 614+.

Every once in a while after turning on power on my PC my ZyAIR can't find my
access point.
When It can't find the AP the is one of two things happening.

1.
The access point is gone.
I have to pull out the USB Cable, wait 5 - 15 seconds plug it in again, and
then the PC can see the AP.
But now I have to type in my WEP key again to gain access to te AP.
After this it works fine.

2.
The access point is listed as "Available networks".
But I have to type in my WEP key again as above.

I have tried moving to ZyAIR as far away from my monitor og speakers as
posible, because I thought it was those that made the interference.
But it hasn't done a lot !

The distance to my AP is 7 - 8 meters (through one very small wall).

Does anyone know if I ca do anything about this ?

Regards
Michael

I assume that you are aware that the B-200 is very sensitive to
positioning. Turning the antenna just a little could result in
the loss of signal. I have painted the outline on my table to
ensure that the antenna is pointing correctly if it has been
moved.

Could there be a problem with the cable or connection?

Are you using the supplied driver or the built-in wireless
support in Windows XP? There is something very wrong with your
system if it does not remember the setup configuration. I can
unplug my antenna and plug it back without losing the WEP keys.

I'll try this.
