Zone Alarm and new router

Hi

have just installed an ADSL modem/router. System has Zone Alarm pro
installed.

When I look at the zone alarm log it seems to be redundant on incoming
alerts, but excessively active on outgoing - MESSENGER.

How do I get rid of messenger, and is ZA actually now no use?
