I will shortly be returning to the UK after a period away.

Before I left I was with Zen on their 50Gb per month package. I was very
happy with the service ETC. I see that the 50Gb package has now come
down in price so is there any reason NOT to return to Zen.

My main requirements are:

Around 50Gb per month with NO traffic shaping, port blocking ETC
Good UK based customer service

www.bethere.co.uk would be a better option if it's available in your area

I think you will find that Zen meets your requirements. Be/O2 may, or
may not, be better/cheaper, they both have a good reputation, but you
know Zen and it hasn't changed.

I'm looking at Zen too. Depending on where you live you may be able
to get the fibre to the cabinet (FTTC) service, which seems to be due
to launch imminently. I'm holding off my decision to look at that.
There is information on their website under 'Fibre'.

Although http://top10.com/broadband/providers/be/ claims that Be provide
both email and web space, there is a distinct lack of mention on the Be web
pages of provision of email, newsgroups and webspace facilities. Do they
really not supply any of these?

I'm with Be Unlimited up to 24 Mb. at £17 per month on a short contract of 3
months, been with them a couple years and they are very good.
(Be are to follow O2 and offer a home phone package soon, I have my name
down to get it.)

For e-mail I use gmail, thought it was old fashioned to use an ISP e-mail
address even if they provide one, makes it harder to change ISP if they not
up to a great service.
For NewsGroups I use one of the free ones, news.eternal-september.org it is
very reliable.

Regards
David

They (Zen) no longer support binaries on their newsgroups which you
may have had last time you used them.
