Zen, AAISP, Idnet or other?

I'm looking to change my ADSL broadband supplier from Claranet so
that I can get a block of 8 IPs (5 usable, I know) instead of a
single static IP.

Currently looking at Zen, AAISP and Idnet, about all of which I have
seen good reports over the years, but don't know how they currently
compare on performance and service.

Any recommendations or reviews from anyone here?

Any others I should be considering?

I only need access, not web space or email. It's the IP block that
is the primary requirement. Configurable reverse DNS for the IPs
would be a bonus.

Cheers
Tony

I use AAISP, and have done for quite a few years. You'll get access, good
access to tech support, and the IPs for no extra charge. rDNS is
configurable (or you can run your own DNS and they'll delegate it and
provide a secondary). You'll get web space and email and a domain as part
of the package.

I use a Zen block of 8, and can confirm configurable reverse DNS for
the IPs.
It runs at the speed it is meant to, and is very reliable.
Sufficiently so that I've never had occasion to test the quality of
their support, although I understand from others that it is excellent
and UK based.

Entanet - via a reseller.

But if you search you'll find a lot of irritated people and a whole ISP
(ADSL24, and I think UKFSN were looking to move too) who's moved/moving
their customers off Entanet and onto Murphx recently - due to problems
they say they've had with Entanet.

As an Entanet reseller myself, I've not had any significant issues, (not
saying it's been perfect either), but all my clients are on a business
package which I see is very much different from the great unwashed who
want the earth for next to nothing on a residential package. But I'd have
to say that my own experiences with my customer base (measured in dozens)
might be very differnt from the likes of ADSL24 and UKFSN who's customer
base is measured in 1000's, or more.

Their leased line rates are very competitive. But maybe less so for ADSL.

Because that is a matter of opinion, not fact. The OP can make up their
own mind.

They certainly were costly when I looked a while ago, but their current
pricing model appears to be a lot more competitive.

I managed to fumble through your fractured grammar to understand that, in
the end.

You are at liberty to point out whatever you like. I mentioned AAISP
because I have first hand experience. I limited my reply to answering the
salient points of the original query.

So far you have contributed no useful or concrete information at all. I
wonder which ISP you work for?

I went with IDnet because they fitted what I wanted

NON BT retail phone line.
Fixed IP address.
No frills
Good support.

Generally speeds are within 90% of the BRAS.

Not sure about reverse DNS.

Come on guys, I wasn't here to start a fight.

I can easily compare and assess prices myself, as they are easily available
on the ISPs' websites. What I am after is what you don't find on the
websites, which is user experience - speed, contention, reliability and
customer service.

Thanks to all who have contirbuted so far...

Cheers
