Just ordered Zen 1mb and got a D-Link 604+. The manual is rubbish. Could
someone point me in the direction of a good guide to setting it up with the
8 fixed IP addresses I get with Zen. I have looked on www.adslguide.org but
I can find nothing about setup there only a review.

D-Link, obscurely, produced a document that describes how to do this for
the DSL-500 router, which also applies to the DSL-604 as their firmwares
are very similar.

ftp://ftp.dlink.co.uk/dsl_routers_modems/
dsl-500%20rev%20d/dsl-504%20no%20nat%20fw%20b2t18uk..doc

(Watch for linewrapping)

This should tell you everything you need to know - certainly worked for
me, and saved me an IP address, as the WAN interface becomes unnumbered
and you assign your router address (the last but one on your subnet) to
the ethernet port.

try http://www.btofaq.net/articles/route...04/dsl504.html and then
for the Zen set up try the ff
Zen will give you a range of IP address
Only 5 of 8 are useable ( 1 for Network address, 1 router address and 1
bradcast address)
On the DHCP config page
Put XXX.XXX.XXX.XX1 into start IP Address
Put XXX.XXX.XXX.XX5 into End IP address
Put 255.255.255.248 into netmask ( could try 255.255.255.251)
Put XXX.XXX.xxx.XX6 into Default gateway
On to the NAT config page
Set the NAT fuction to disabled

Leave all else alone.
Restart the router and Reboot your PC that should be all providing you
are using dynamic routing on your pc(s)
Have fun
