your domain password is not correct or access to your login server is denied

We have several 98SE machines on my network. That has been
receiving this error when attempting to log in "your
domain password is not correct or access to your login
server is denied". The user names and passwords are
entered correctly. The way we get them to login is to keep
pressing enter. After several times the passwords is
finally excepted. Does anyone have an idea why on the
first attempt it is not logging in.?

I have the same problem Steph

It work no problem for 3 mths then suddenly a Username/Password & Domain
window pops up after connecting via VPN. The Password and username is
correct thats for sure but we don't use a domain Do you just keeping hitting
return and eventually it lets you in?

I looked up Microsoft, found something along the lines... find the pass.pwl
file and re-name then re-boot,then everything is resolved, problem is it
isn't as I could not find any file called "pass.pwl"
