I have a Netgear WAG311 in my Win2K desktop. I also have a
Speedstream 5100 (wired) DSL modem attached and giving me Yahoo DSL.
I would like to set-up an ad-hoc with my laptop (Dell w/ XP) to both
transfer files between the two machines as well access the web from
the laptop. I've set-up the ad-hoc and I get full green bars on the
laptop. However, I can't get web access through the laptop, nor can I
"see" the desktop machine. I have attempted to "share" the LAN
connection (created by the Speedstream) but windows declares that this
cannot work - and then the DSL connections is disconnected and needs
to be reinstalled through a minimal software re-install. IPCONFIG
gives the following...
C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator>ipconfig
Windows 2000 IP Configuration
Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection 2:
Media State . . . . . . . . . . . : Cable Disconnected
Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection:
Connection-specific DNS Suffix . : domain_not_set.invalid

Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 67.113.31.80

Help is greatly appreciated.
