Christ.. I was a big LinkSys advocate, but after the last few weeks
here, I've changed my mind..

I have yet another LinkSys product that took a dump.. Now it's the
PPS1UW. It's a print server to USB. All I wanted to do is get a Epson
Printer running on my network for other PCs to print to it.. I read the
manual, followed every step.. after 2 days of frustration I called tech
support.. this time the tech guy at LinkSys was pretty knowledgeable,
however, the end result is that it looks like this thing only worked for
a day at best.. Gotta send it in I think. It wont return back to the
default settings, but the DHCP sees it, and gives it an IP address.. no
network name though.

I took it back to the CompUSSR store, but after 14 days, I'm screwed..
cashier says we stopped carrying this model too.. My guess is the huge
amount of returns they got..

Anyone have any luck with this? Know how to reset to default? What a
bunch of crap.. no more LinkSys for me, I'm so done.

Thanks
-Richard

Have you been able to get to the setup pages for the unit? You may have to
start with an Ethernet cable to get it going. I have one (WPS11) and it
took me a while to get it going, but in the end, I had to disable
bi-directional printing to get it to work.

Normally holding down the reset button for several seconds should reset the
unit to Default settings.

Thirty seconds or more of holding down the reset button usually works. If
that doesn't work, then throwing it up against the wall will do it.

I don't have a wireless setup yet. It is plugged into a port on the router.

YEah, I went though tech support on this. It didn't reset it. Held the
reset while uppluggin it and plugging it back in too. no go.

Manual and tech support said 10, I'll try longer then too.. might try
