Yet another BT Home Hub question

Friend has had his mark 1 BTHH replaced by the current sexy curved
model due to line dropping problems which BTW it seems to have solved.

However, he claims he has never changed any of the security settings -
but *none* of the passwords on the back of the thing work. Neither the
admin password nor the wifi one.

The help suggests hitting the reset button with a warning that you
will have to redo any customisation. OK, question is does a reset on
these things take it right back to basics or as shipped? IOW will it
still know the connection info, id/password etc.?

AS shipped.

If you need a mark 2 hub, I seem to have some in stock, for some reason (Even
though I'm not a BT customer). One is used, the rest are still shrink-wrapped.

Alternatively, call India, and in your best RP accent, report the hub as having
failed and they will send out a new one in short(ish) order.
