What ever you do don't go for BT Yahoo the mail and news servers are
dreadful and for the full range of services you will have to use a
Yahoo customised broweser.
Look around some ISPs are selling essentially the same product for 10
pounds less per month. Also be aware that the Alcatel modem supplied in
most ADSL package can be very picky about the USB port it is connected
too -- most VIA chipset USB ports just don't work well with it.
As for how to connect sugest you go for "wires only" and go for a cheap
Conexant chipset modem-router either single ethernet+USB or 4 ether net
+ USB -- diffrence in prices is only about 10 quid, 45 instead of 35
+p&p. The router will give you a nats firewall for extra protection.
Also make sure each pC on your network has proper virus and firewall
protection as the risks with an always on connection are much greater.
Be aware that if you down load truly masive downloads on a regular basis
most ADSL ISP will put you in a contention ratio ghetto with other band
width hoggers.
You might also want to consider a ISP that gives you a fixed IP addrss
with no extra charge.
