Yahoo / BTYahoo problems

I am using BTOpenworld broadband, which has now been redesignated as
BTYahoo broadband, or so I believe.

Ever since using this service, for the last week, I have been unable
to access my email account at Yahoo. I am constantly re-directed,
automatically, to the BTYahoo mail service. This happens whatever I
do. Even when typing in mail.yahoo.com in IE exactly the same happens.

I am completely at a loss as to know what to do. No-one at the BTYahoo
help service is of any use whatsoever. They repeat the same mantric
advice which does not work.

Does anyone know what I can do to re-gain access to my Yahoo email
account?

Any help most welcome.
John.

You must sign out of your BTYahoo ID and then go to Yahoo and sign into your
Yahoo ID to get to your Yahoo page.

The reverse also applies, you will need to sign out of Yahoo in order to get
back into BTYahoo otherwise you get directed to pages you don't want.

I had the misfortune to work for Yahoo about 18 months ago. I've been a
contractor for 14 years and I have never, ever seen a less professional
organisation. If you're a yank or have a similar ego you'll fit right in.
Put it this way, when I joined I asked what their backup strategy was on
their many, many servers. I was told "fsck" which is the unix equivalent of
Windows Scandisk. In other words they had nothing, if data was lost, who
cares ? We're Yahoo, the darling of the dot.coms

I also had the misfortune to be a BTO customer at the same time. Their
"support" monkeys (and I use the word in an accurate sense) were woeful,
ignorant, arrogant and flat out just didn't give a shit.

I'm sure the square mile loved the "alliance" or "partnership" (what is the
current buzzword these days ?) but for Joe Public it was the Sperm of Satan
dealing with the Spawn of Satan.

Well I have done all of this and managed to get logged on to
mail.yahoo.com once. Ever since though, even though I log off from the
BTYahoo service, I still get re-directed to the BTYahoo mail service.

I am completely at a loss with this. I have deleted cookies and god
knows what, with little or no effect. They have a bloody cheek to put
these automatic re-directions in and then they have no idea how to
help you. Brilliant.
