Arhh, but have you confirmed its valid yet? By giving it to another
supplier?
Oh and how did you pay Tiswas for your service? Not by a card I hope.

Yes I have, and it's up and running. Tiswas's DD authorisation will be
cancelled tomorrow.

Joe, did this MAC code contain or start with BBIP, I only ask as UKonline
said I would need something like that.

Please have mercy on an old inmate, my parole is still in the future.

No. It began FTIP... and it didn't contain BBIP.

I think that meant that it was an IPstream connection. I have just got of
the phone with Tiscali Support as my connection keeps dropping off.

It would seem that I have a DataStream connection. Talking to a salesman at
UKonline, he suggested that without a MAC code with IP in the number, then I
will have to disconnect and start again.

Do'h, back to the drawing board.

Thanks anyway Joe

Metronet (and others) were doing a trial of handling migrations between
DataStream and IPstream several months ago, and it was mentioned on the
newsgroup and on www.ADSLguide.org I know there may be problems if you
are switching to their own LLU service (getting a cheaper monthly rate)
but would have hoped UK Online were clued up enough to handle switching
from DataStream for you! Might be worth you asking on ADSLguide and in
groups such as uk.net.providers and alt.internet.providers.uk (in case
staff from UK Online or Easynet spots it and can help you out). Peter.
