Thank you for your response. I would like to add two things to the previous
post.
The effect that I describe, happens at shorter distances as well (two rooms
over on the same floor). At the same, a thinkpad with a built-in wireless
card works *everywhere* in the house including the basement. Would this make
you change your answer? Also, can I interpret your original answer as saying
that all brands are the same?
