Two D-Link wireless - AG650 & 650+ worked fine for months in Dell 1100.
Failed to start one day on power-up suddenly showing yellow (!) with Code
12/'device cannot find enough free resources'. No hardware had been added.
Worked the day before. Suspect XP updates had been downloaded, but system
hadn't yet been rebooted. WPA/KB826942 update had not been installed (a
potential cause). Std technique of disabling conflicting device(s) doesn't
work (can't read what the D-Links want as resources aren't shown when device
has Code 12, but Disabled everything but kitchen sink) - nope. Flashed Dell
bios to latest (another suggestion) - nope. Ran XP repair using file
delete/replace method - nope. Used latest drivers from D-Link - nope.
Modified D-Link registry settings to allow shared IRQ (shouldn't have had
to) - nope. D-Link tech support - nope. Bought/installed usb wireless device
just to write this. Web searches tend to indicate that this issue affects
cardbus cards of all types. Any suggestions short of reformatting drive and
reinstalling XP would be appreciated. Usb device v. slow compared to AG650.
