I have a strange problem that just started to occur on my small network. I
have Server 2003 SP1 with 3 XP SP2 clients attached. The server suddenly
stopped permitting the workstations to print, so I did some digging and
discovered the following:
1. The workstations are able to log in without issue.
2. The workstations can ping using IP addresses or DNS name.
3. Remote desktop still works to manage the server from one of the
workstations.
4. All workstations can still connect to the internet through the server.
5. I can see the printer in the active directory, from the workstation, but
am unable to go any further.
The workstations are unable to browse to the server, map the server's drives
or connect to the printers. I even deleted the printer on the server and
recreated it, checked the share and made sure it was listed in the active
directory. I feel like I have checked everything but to no avail.
