XP SP2 & Broadband Connectivity

Had to reinstall XP SP2 on one of my computers. Now when
I try to set up my DSL connection, through a hub the
system is "stuck" in always on. My ISP needs PPPOE
to "dial-up" the DSL modem. I've spent 7 hours w/
Microsoft Techical Support. Any sugestions on how to
change the connect directly to the internet, set
manually, via PPPOE availability?

PS - I've already tried to reset the config., deleted the
device, got a new different LAN card, all the obvious
options have been tried.

Any help please.

PPOE logon information should be stored in the DSL modem itself.
Logon to the modem through a web browser e.g. http://192.168.1.1
default logon is Username: Admin Password: 1234 for most dsl modems
Use the wizard to configure the modem.
verify your logon information with your ISP
Check the Status tab on the modem config page...and see if it can connect.
Your Internet explorer is supposed to be on "always on" setting.
Sounds like you reset the modem and lost your logon settings that were saved
when you first set it up using a cd that your ISP gave you.\
