XP Slow on Windows 2003 server, Win2k seems fine

When opening files on a Win2k3 server from a WinXP machine there is a delay.
The larger the file the longer the delay (50 meg file may have 10+ second
delay).

Using a Win2k computer all seems fine.

If you are on the server (win2k3) and try to access it's resources locally
all seems fine and quick. If you are on the same server but access the
files through a mapped network drive there is a delay like in WinXP.

Any suggestions?

Did you hard code the switchport and the server's nic? I'd try this first.

I will try this. Currently they are set to Auto. It is strange that Win2k
works fine and XP doesn't.

Prior when we were a NT network, the Win2k systems were slow and XP was
fast.

Thanks again

i think the win2k3 machine or xp machine
each one of them run more services and more applications thats make this
machine very slow
