I have a Win2k3 SP2 network.

If I use a Windows 2000 PC to browse Network Neighborhood everything is
fine. If I use XP (any SP) to do the same thing, there is a 5-10 second
delay when browing.
Also, if I execute an executable from Win2k it seems to start immediatly.
If I use XP there is a delay before the file executes or extracts, the
larger the file, the larger the delay.

Any thoughts?

I see no errors. I do not know much of this utility so I just opened it from DOS Prompt and typed in a few computer names and I get a response immediatly so all seems fine.

that may be the virus scanner.
Also often conflicting digital signing settings btw. client and server are a
reason for delays or even no connect at all (sometimes also caused by less
than perfect network card drivers).
Are there any errors or informations in the event log of the client PCs?
Maybe also enable some auditing of failed logon events.
Best greetings from Germany
Olaf
