Hi
I have an XP machine (call it Desktop with Netgear USB Wireless NIC)) on my
home LAN which seems to occasionally pause. E.g. when playing back mp3s in
winamp from a network share on a second machine (call it Server with Belkin
PCI wireless NIC).
Running a continuous ping from the Desktop machine to the server shows a
roundtrip time of 4 to 5 ms, however, once in every 60 pings or so the
roundtrip time increases to around 3000 ms. This same issue is seen in a
continuos ping to my router / WAP (generic Ebuyer unit).
Running the same test from the server to the router shows no problem, but
pings to the Desktop occasionally time out.
Tests from a third machine (Laptop with netgear PCMCIA) show no issues with
delay to either the Server or router. All machine run 802.11b
Anyone got any ideas?
Many thanks
Marcel
