YES, definitely. I ran into this same problem a few days ago after I logged
in a laptop with a new installation of XP, then tried to switch back to the
old 2000 installation. The domain computer acct stopped working 'cause it
had been "updated" by the XP machine. The local user accounts were so old,
none of the user accounts/passwords matched what I had on file. I
evenutally had to find and use a linux password crack to find an account
with administrative priveleges and remove the password on it. Soaked up an
hour of my time.
Btw, thanks for the tip on skipping a reboot when unjoining/rejoining
domain. I've wasted a lot of time on that.
