multiple XP Pro stations going through an SBS2003 box, internet works fine.
however, if one ftp's from an XP box to a site, it will Only work after the
xp box is rebooted, and ONLY the first time - every subsequent ftp
immediately gets connection closed. If i turn on the ftp service on SBS2003,
then of course ftp works fine, but only to the server, not to the outside
world. I'm at a loss to explain this behavior - can anyone profer a guess as
to whether the problem lies on the XPP boxes, or on the SBS2003 box??? And
please, no debate about using ftp - the real problem is a program that uses
ftp in the background, so ftp Must work! And no, rebooting the box each time
won't work, because the program first does a test connection when it starts
(which works) then it goes to the main screen, re-opens an ftp connection to
send the real data, which fails... Lovely, eh?
