Hi On my main server pc, windows xp home i have the main C:/ drive shared, I
can go into Documents & Settings and go into my directory and the guest
directory. but i am unable to access other (Users with guest privelages) it
will only work when i individually share each directory. I have
administrative privilages on both machines.

Is there a way to get round this?

Both machines are on NTFS permissions.

Kind Regards,

Carl

If your using XP you need to check the permissions for the share and also
the permissions on security tab.

Joe.

Try accessing them from a non-admin user on the local machine. It won't
work either. Its a log-in/permissions error.
I posted the work round within the last hour

I wonder if the documents and settings folder permissions are different for
some reason.

I remember that in windows ME or NT or something not used much now, even if
you thought you were looking at someone elses tempory internet files, you
were actually still just looking at your own.
