Hello, I have just installed a 2003 DC / file server at a clients. They
have XP Pro desktops. Everything works great except one problem, the first
time you open a share on the server there is a 20second delay, then you can
browse with no problems. you can close and re-open explorere and it will be
fast, but if you do not have a share open for a while the delay will be back
for the first re-connect.

I have seen suggestions to delete the REG key :

In regedit navigate to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\
Explorer\Remote Computer\NameSpace

And delete the following key:
{D6277990-4C6A-11CF-8D87-00AA0060F5BF}

To prevent the client for checking for "scheduled task's" but this did not
correct the problem, and YES there is a scheduled task on the server, it is
a scheduled task to kick off the tape backup every night.

Any help is greatly apreciated, I am running out of ideas
Thanks
Brent Ritchie
