I have almost the same identical problem using a new XP
Pro laptop with mostly WIN98 machines and one Win2k and a
service running Win2k. All machine use the same logon
password. All machines can get into my XP machine but I
cannot get into their shared files. I can see the
network, I then can see their folders but once I click on
any folder to see their files, my system locks up and I
have to Ctrl-Alt-Del to stop the file from running - even
sometimes have to reboot. The following are running:
Client for MS Networks, File & Printer Sharing for MS
Networks, NW Link Net Bios, NWLink IPX/PX/Net Bios
Compatiable Transport Protocol and Internet Protocal.
Should one or several of the above be removed or
unchecked? BTW, no firewall is running, including MS.
I'll be watching this site for any information.
