XBox Live LAG!!!

OK I was playing Mechassult today and the people on live
were saying that i was laging for some odd reason and
this also happens with all my xbox live enable games I
have the MN-700 and the 740 and the connection on them
xbox says "excellent" now when i wired just the modem to
the xbox No lag was so ever every thing runs smooth as a
babys bottom what am i doing wrong i got the lates
updates from Microsoft and followed the book to the
letter and i tried putting the wep from 128 to 64 to none
all the same and the same prob with my pc game too.. and
the internet as well what should i do?

Did you check your ISP connection at the time? It shouldn't vary that much.
Have you tried changing channels on your system? Perhaps moving to Channel
1 or 11 (the default is 6) might be better. You might also want to check
the Xbox web site's support section for suggestions.

i tried all the channels sorry forgot to say that ant the
web site for xbox is no help as for my ISP I have sbc
yahoo dsl and there is no prob. with that i think its the
base station itself i dont know what yet but the prob. is
in there....

Could be distance of the wireless, the environment/construction in-between
the base station and the Xbox. Have you tried changing position of the base
station, farther away from a wall, higher, lower?

Nope right now they are right next to each other so not
the distance
