xbox online through my laptop, no router/hub/switch. Can
I do this. I am having trouble. Thanks

Hi,

You should ask your neighbour's permission before accessing their wireless
network.
They can probably provide you with advice.

But how? I have the sameish setup, with the xbox
connected via rj45 to my PC, and the PC connected to the
internet via MN-510. The only connection in my
connections is the NIC's connection to the xbox, and it
won't let me create one with the USB wireless device. How
do i bridge/share the USB and NIC connections.
Difference: I'm using my own network.

Brad, you should probably look through the information on the Xbox web site:
http://www.xbox.com/en-US/Live/Connect/default.htm There are some good
diagrams and instructions for network connections.

The site just says to see your windows documentation for
how to set up ICS. However, neither the help of Windows XP
nor the broadband utility cover using ICS with connections
(like my USB one) handled by the utility and not listed in
my LAN connections.

I also sent an email, and got directed to the same web
address. They also told me that I have to buy a wireless
adapter for the Xbox, which isn't true. I had the setup
working before, but had to uninstall and now it doesn't
work. For some reason the USB wireless connection does not
show up in my LAN/High-speed Connections, nor can I find a
way to make it.

With a laptop, you're confined to only one Network Interface Card, therefore
have no means like a desktop does, of accepting an Ethernet connection from
a broadband modem on one NIC and sharing it out on the other NIC.

Sorry for the confusion, but I am using a desktop with one
NIC and one MN-510 (USB Wireless b adapter).
