Hi,

The server that I'm using doesn't support ssh. But it support rsh,
telnet, .etc. I'm wondering whether I can use X11 Forwarding with login
methods.

Thanks,
Peng

If you want every hacker in the world to be able to take over complete
control of your system and your server's system, sure.
Otherwise, why does your server not support ssh? Get them to support ssh.
Otherwise they are irresponsible idiots (I used to be one, until we were
broken into and passwords onto other remote systems sniffed when a couple
of my users went to Korea-- since then ssh only).

The system is in a local network. No outside people can connect to it.

And then one day someone connects it to the outside world and you are
screwed. Always behave as though attacks were possible. Use ssh.

Then, why do you even need X11 Forwarding? Simply set $DISPLAY
appropriately, copy the xauth data (if you're not alreadying sharing
~/.Xauthority via NFS-mounted home directories) and you can start any
X apps remotely.
