X-box...ICS?

Is it possible to configure an XBox to use a PC running ICS as its
gateway for an internet connection (and thus avoid buying a router)?

(Had a request from a customer for a quote for this as part of a home
network job - I don't even own an XBox so no idea how their network
settings are configured.)

How about doing similar with a PS2?

I have my son's x-box configured through his PC like this and it
works. Had to re-address the home network though as ICS insists on
using 194.168.0.1 (which my router was using).

I'm confused...do you have a router in the equation? My query is "can
it be done without the expense of a router".

I have a router with a wireless access point built-in. My son's PC is
in his bedroom and connects to the router wirelessly. His x-box is
also in his bedroom and connects to his PC with ICS.

I'm sorry the additional info I gave regarding the router was
confusing - it's a red herring in relation to the original poster's
question.
