wusb11 & Lost uploads

I have a strange phenom with ftp through a WUSB11 linksys wireless
adapter. The basic connection seems fine, 100%. However, sometimes
during an upload there will be an interruption if the file is up
around 5MB. I'm willing to try again if it will finish in a reasonable
number of trys.
Here's the kicker, often as not with a file over 3MB, even if it
completes the transfer and relogging on to the remote server verifies
its presence there, IT WILL DISAPPEAR! (sorry about the caps). I've
had lengthy discussions with the host and they have witnessed the
sequence of events but have no answer. If I go to the machine that is
wired through the same router (BEFW 11S4) an upload will stick every
time. So the buggy link, if that is what it is, seems to be the
adapter.
