I was wondering if anyone else is experiencing this problem. I have an
XP
laptop (SP2). Using a linksys PCMIA 54G wireless unit. Im up to date
on
my router and apparently my PCMIA driver. I have all my updates
current
on my XP box.

My connection drops every now and then, doesnt seem to be a consistant
time
interval. Sometimes its up for nearly a day, maybe slightly less.
Sometimes
its drops only after a couple hours or so. Both the router and the
laptop are located
in exactly the same position for months now. Im using encryption as
well.

Any suggestions or others with same problem?

Hopefully this is linksys's problem and they will have a fix in the
driver(s) soon.

Suggestions to try:

- check the laptop power mgmt settings

- check the settings of the PC Card - some cards can be set to go
into a low power mode when idle, to save battery power

- try different channels, reception can be very quirky
